Born and raised in Calgary, I was blessed to spend my first seventeen years with the Rocky Mountains as my backyard. When I wasn't competing in sports, you could find me helping out in the kitchen, hiking and skiing in the mountains, or cruising along Calgary's running trails.
With a passion for life and living healthy I set out to make change, in my life and the lives of others by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. Following high school I headed East to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Western Ontario. I had the privilege to compete on the Mustang’s Women’s Lacrosse team, winning 3 Ontario University Athletic Championship titles.
My participation in sport and studies in Kinesiology strengthened my interest in the human body and how the choices we make can profoundly impact on our health. I discovered Naturopathic Medicine and was immediately drawn to the philosophy and principles of the profession. Soon after, I found myself enrolled at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine to begin a four-year path to become a Naturopathic Physician.
I admire the body and its capacity to work, perform and recover when given the optimal environment to do so. My focus on athlete care emphasizes supporting physical, physiological and psychological impacts of training, with the foundation of my treatment philosophy based on achieving balance. By recognizing the needs at the onset, throughout and transitioning out of competition that are unique to both male and female athletes I strive to bridge the gap between optimal health and peak performance.
